Karen Davidson was born and raised in North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and has a Masters and Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Ms. Davidson’s practice is wholistic, offering a full range of legal services to individuals and families in both the criminal and civil court arenas. She has nine years experience as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting both District and Superior Court cases. She has handled every type of criminal matter from seat-belt violations to murder. She can answer your questions and provide options for dealing with criminal and traffic issues.

 

Building on a background in criminal litigation, Ms. Davidson has thirty years experience in criminal and traffic defense litigation as  well as domestic representation.  Her knowledge of family law matters includes certification as a family financial mediator, training in collaborative family law, and both civil and juvenile guardian ad litem work, and certification as a parent coordinator for high conflict domestic cases. She has been the retained attorney for abused and neglected children in Orange and Chatham Counties for over a decade. Her domestic work includes adoptions, divorce, custody and child support, equitable distribution, and alimony. Ms. Davidson is a member of Separating Better, a Collaborative Law Practice Group serving separating couples seeking an alternative to litigation.

Our job is to protect the client’s legal rights and best interests while working to reduce the acrimony and lengthy, expensive interventions that often accompany legal transactions.

Along with her Guardian ad Litem work for children and transitioning families, Ms. Davidson also serves the Court as Guardian ad Litem in adult competency cases.
